Leonardo DiCaprio’s ‘disturbing’ Golden Globes comment

During the weekend, Hollywood’s elite gathered for the 83rd annual Golden Globes, marking the official start of awards season.

Among the celebrated performers acknowledged that night was legendary actor Leonardo DiCaprio, who earned a nomination for his performance in One Battle After Another.

While the trophy for Actor in a Musical or Comedy Film in the end went to Timothée Chalamet for Marty Supreme, the Titanic icon still managed to generate quite a few viral moments throughout the ceremony.

Beyond his expressive reactions and candid responses, the actor’s alternate with actress Julia Roberts grew to become a speaking point that captured consideration across social media platforms.

While their interplay left many viewers curious, lip-reading specialist Nicola Hickling was in a position to interpret their dialog.

In another second that set social media ablaze, Leonardo DiCaprio discovered himself in the highlight when host Nikki Glaser kicked off the ceremony with a pointed jab at the actor’s well-documented courting patterns.

“What a career you have had,” the comic noticed. She went on: “Countless iconic performances. You’ve worked with every great director, you’ve won three Golden Globes, and an Oscar.

“The most spectacular factor is that you have been in a position to accomplish all that before your girlfriend turned 30. It is just insane.”

The quip, referencing DiCaprio’s 27-year-old supermodel partner Vittoria Ceretti, prompted audible gasps and groans from the star-studded crowd.

Glaser quickly walked it back, saying, “I’m sorry I made that joke; it is low-cost. “I tried not to, but we don’t know anything else about you, man. There’s nothing else. Open up.”

While DiCaprio was crushed to the punch by Timothee Chalamet, he still made his approach to the podium when One Battle After Another claimed the coveted Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy trophy.

The box workplace smash also introduced victories for his fellow forged members, with Paul Thomas Anderson securing Best Director and Best Screenplay honors, and Teyana Taylor incomes the Best Supporting Female Actor accolade.
