Country singer begins cancer treatment after shock

Country music star Jillian Cardarelli has revealed she’s undergone surgical procedure after being recognized with breast cancer.

The 33-year-old took to Instagram on Friday, June 26, to share the update with followers, having announced she’d been recognized with stage 2 invasive ductal carcinoma on May 21.

Continuing her Instagram put up, Jillian said, “Now it’s time to heal while we wait for the next step in my treatment plan. Thank you to the incredible team at Dana-Farber for your kindness, compassion, and support throughout such a challenging and stressful process. I’m truly so grateful to be in your care.

“Thank you to everybody who has prayed for me, checked in, and lifted me up. One day at a time.”

Jillian ended her post with some advice for her fans, as she urged, “As always… #CheckYourGirls.” She received an outpouring of support in the comments, with one fan writing, “You’re unbelievable! Sending you prayers and therapeutic.”

Another commented, “Good vibes and prayers your manner Jillian!” while a third fan added, “Welp. This received me. Tears of pleasure seeing your smile. Thankful for this update. Love, hugs & prayers!”

“Let’s go, ROCKSTAR… you bought this!! Sending love and prayers!!” one fan encouraged, as someone else commented, “It makes my day to see your smiling face! Continued prayers for full therapeutic. Love you!”

Jillian was diagnosed with cancer as she was preparing to head to Toronto for the second season of the series Crossroad Springs, having just finished working on some new songs. She first sensed something was wrong when she noticed her body felt “different” and she was tired more often.

The Strong hitmaker said her world was turned upside down when she received her cancer diagnosis. “I really feel worry and disappointment. I’m like, why did this occur?” she said in a new interview.

Speaking to People Magazine, Jillian added, “I don’t match the profile of any individual that ought to get cancer at 33 years outdated. So sure, there’s a little bit little bit of anger there. But I’m not indignant at God. I’m leaning on Him more than ever versus being indignant at Him. But sure, I’m indignant at the state of affairs.”

Despite the scary diagnosis, Jillian said she feels optimistic as her doctors said they are “confident” the disease can be “eradicated” and she will live a “lengthy, regular, healthy and pleased life.”
