Iconic folk singer, 82, found eight months after going

Folk legend Linda Perhacs has been found alive, eight months after she seemingly disappeared without a hint.

The folk legend, 82, was confirmed to have been situated by a consultant from the LAPD Missing Persons Unit on Wednesday, July 29, after members of her interior circle filed official studies with the LAPD and Adult Protective Services following months of no contact. She was last seen leaving a residential care facility in the San Fernando Valley space of Los Angeles.

Speaking to The Daily Mail, a consultant for the LAPD Missing Persons Unit confirmed that Perhacs had been situated.

“She was found today. She’s safe. We can’t share where, as it involves her HIPAA,” they said in a press release.

Perhacs was last seen under the supervision of her authorized guardian, however family members had been unable to contact her since she left the facility,

In an Instagram submit, her buddy Mark McNeill shared the considerations expressed by those who knew her.

“Linda Perhacs our dear friend and legendary singer-songwriter, was discharged from a residential care facility approximately eight months ago under the supervision of her legal guardian,” he wrote.

“Since then, friends and longtime collaborators have been unable to reach her and repeated attempts to contact her guardian have reportedly gone unanswered,” he continued. “Please help us locate Linda to ensure her wellbeing.”

His submit was shared at the side of her former supervisor, Laurel Stearns, musician Julia Holter and director Jessica Hundley, with Hundley later alleging to Rolling Stone that she had been fighting dementia and residing in the facility for a number of years.

“We have called elder care and filed several police reports and have now retained a private investigator to help in finding her,” she said.

Stearns also chimed in with a press release saying that they weren’t “alleging wrongdoing” however are instead “seeking confirmation that Linda is safe, well, and receiving appropriate care, while expressing concern over the prolonged absence of communication with a beloved public figure.”

Perhacs was best identified for her Seventies album Parallelograms, which she recorded while working as a dental hygienist. It was ignored for years before getting renewed appreciation in the late 90s. She then launched a comeback album, The Soul of All Natural Things in 2014, and I’m a Harmony, in 2017.
