On Thursday, head coach Sean McVay said the Rams are hopeful the offensive lineman can return before the Week 1 showdown against the San Francisco 49ers in Australia.
“We’ll see about Keagen. We’re hopeful that he’ll be able to return before the first game,” McVay said. “But if not, I believe [OL] David Quessenberry’s finished an incredible job. [LT] Alaric [Jackson] had a very good camp, as has [OL] Warren McClendon. That’s a optimistic factor for us.
“But Trost, I feel bad for Keagen with the way that happened, but that’s a temporary setback. He’s a mentally tough, resilient guy. He’ll be back. I really felt good with the depth we had at tackle. Obviously, you get a little bit thinned out when you felt good about those four guys, if you include Keagen into it. But we’ve got some other guys that we’re going to continue to evaluate, and we’ll see.”
