‘Devil Wears Prada’ Chanel jacket surfaces for resale for $10k…
Someone must have fallen down and smacked their little head on the pavement.
That’s the only rationalization for parting with a Chanel jacket from 2005 — the same design worn by Anne Hathaway in the final style rom-com, 2006’s “The Devil Wears Prada.”
The jacket was created by the model’s late inventive director Karl Lagerfeld, and scored by stylist Patricia Field (who also created Carrie Bradshaw’s indelible “Sex and the City” outfits) during the movie’s hectic manufacturing schedule.

But this week, it surfaced on the fashionable resale website TheRealReal — for just over $10,000.
Made from French-milled cotton and piped with silver- and gold-threaded trim, the nautical-style blazer is a part of the well-known “DWP” makeover montage the place Hathaway startles Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt — and even supermodel Gisele — together with her “gimme those boots” glow-up.
The jacket represents a triumph for each Hathaway’s character Andy Sachs and Patricia Field’s hard-working wardrobe division, which needed to scramble for runway-worthy items for Hathaway and Blunt.
Today, that appears insane.
At the time, it was just good sense, as many European designers — and their notoriously strict publicists — had been scared to lend garments to the film. They feared offending Vogue empress Anna Wintour, on whom the film was famously based.
“They thought it was a sensitive political issue,” Field told The Post at the time. “But it didn’t matter,” since Anne Hathaway was such a sizzling star, and Lagerfeld sensed the movie could be good for everybody.
Wintour, too, got here round, sporting her personal Prada costume to the film’s New York premiere.
The movie was a large hit, touchdown $326.6 million in box-office income and elevating each Hathaway and Blunt to Hollywood’s A-list. It also taught a era of viewers how you can spell “Gabanna.”
The hotly anticipated sequel to the Y2K sensation dropped in May — bringing in over $693 million at the box workplace. (That’s over 105,000 Prada baggage).
Pictured is another current itemizing — in a Large — for the cut price worth of about $8,400. Unlike most Chanel resale items, this version of the jacket suits a curvier physique. The RealReal
