George Clooney recalls losing ‘Thelma & Louise’ role to Brad Pitt…

George Clooney will never overlook that he misplaced a role in “Thelma & Louise” to Brad Pitt.

“I got to the final test for a role in ‘Thelma & Louise.’ And, motherf—er, Brad got it,” Clooney, 64, said about his “Ocean’s Eleven” co-star, 61, in a new interview with The Times UK.

Pitt memorably portrayed J.D., the good-looking younger drifter whom Thelma (Geena Davis) falls for as she experiences marital points with husband Darryl (Christopher McDonald) in the beloved 1991 movie.

The role helped launch Pitt’s profession into superstardom, while Clooney received his big break a few years later when he was solid in “ER.”

But Clooney still had a tough time getting over that Pitt beat him to the punch.

“I didn’t watch ‘Thelma & Louise’ for years, because I was annoyed,” he admitted to The Times UK. “The part launched his career in film. He was doing sitcoms and crap before, so when it was the thing that could’ve launched me? F–k!!”

Clooney also said that his “Wolfs” co-star still teases him about “Thelma & Louise”

“Oh yeah, he gives me s–t,” Clooney shared, including, “Of course, when I saw it, I was, like, well, it ‘had’ to be that guy.”

Adam Sandler, who did the interview alongside Clooney to promote their new movie “Jay Kelly,” recalled watching Pitt’s “Thelma & Louise” scene the place he’s shirtless in a resort room.

“I saw that at the cinema and when Brad took his shirt off people went nuts,” said Sandler, 59. “But it should have been you, Clooney.”

Davis, 69, beforehand spoke about Pitt scoring his “Thelma & Louise” role on “The Graham Norton Show” in 2022.

“Once I was cast, it was down to four finalists for that role,” she recalled. “They said, ‘Would you read with them, so we could see what you’re like?’ Each one came in, each one was very handsome, they all had brown hair and were very talented. I didn’t care who it was going to be.”

“And then the fourth one who comes in is Brad Pitt,” Davis continued. “He’s so charismatic and so incredibly talented that I was screwing up his audition because I forgot to say my line. I’m just like, ‘Wow, he’s really talented.’”

She also confirmed that the other actors in the working to play J.D. have been Grant Show, Mark Ruffalo and Clooney, who later told Davis on a aircraft that he “hated” Pitt because he misplaced the half to him.
