Ben Stiller’s Met Gala post is met with harsh

Ben Stiller joked he’ll now have to miss the New York Knicks’ Game 2 Eastern Conference playoff conflict with the Philadelphia 76ers after he skipped Game 1 to attend the Met Gala.

Posting on X, Portnoy wrote, “If Ben Stiller picked the Met Gala over Game 1 of the Knicks game, he may have to turn in his man card.”

Despite attending the Met Gala, Stiller still managed to catch the game, with him posting on X intermittently throughout Game 1. He also joked on the social media platform, “I guess I have to go to Met ball Wednesday”, which is when Game 2 between Philadelphia and the Knicks kicks off at Madison Square Garden.

Fans of Stiller, who sported Knicks colours at the Met Gala by donning a navy swimsuit and orange tie alongside spouse Christine Taylor, shortly leaped to the actor’s protection following Portnoy’s comments. “Dave your team is out! YOURE NOT INVITED TO EITHER!” wrote one.

A second added, “At least Ben Stiller still has plenty of games he can attend while you sit on your couch and cope with your failure of your team being eliminated.”

A 3rd wrote, “Didn’t you miss most of Game 7 cuz you were at the Derby? Didn’t even watch?” A fourth said, “Hmmmmmm…….how on earth can u look at that picture and still be serious with that comment??”

And a fifth wrote, “He got the orange tie on as a shout out and his lady with the blue. Pretty sure he checking this score too every chance he can look down. Every man has been in this position before.”

Game 2 between the Knicks and 76ers will get underway on Wednesday evening at Madison Square Garden, with New York hoping to take a 2-0 lead in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

The only other semifinal matchup to have been performed up to now noticed the Minnesota Timberwolves down the San Antonio Spurs 104-102 on the highway.
