A heroic civilian that overtly tackled and disarmed a gunman at the Bondi Beach terror assault in December broke bread with thriller Hollywood producer M. Night Shyamalan.
In a scene straight out of a Hollywood film, Ahmed AI Ahmed, a 43-year-old store proprietor and father of two, gained notoriety after footage of him wrestling a gun from one in all the terrorists went viral following the Dec. 14, 2025 assault.

Ahmed posted the picture of himself sporting an arm sling and standing next to Shyamalan and his spouse, Bhavna Vaswani, at a restaurant on Jan. 12.
“Had a truly wonderful dinner with M. Night Shyamalan, the Hollywood filmmaker and American director, screenwriter, and producer,” said Ahmed in the Instagram publish.
“It was a warm, delightful evening filled with meaningful conversations and memorable moments,” he added.
One supporter commented below the publish saying, “hope they make a movie about you.”
While another took a shot at his newfound fame. “True heroes are humble. You are clearly milking it now,” the publish acknowledged.
