Camilla’s son warns of ‘revolution’ if he were named

Tom Parker Bowles joked there could be a “revolution” if he were to be named prince.

Queen Camilla’s son expressed his perception that it might have been an “appalling” resolution if he had obtained a title when his stepfather, King Charles, ascended the throne in 2023, stating it might have set again the monarchy by many years.

In a light-hearted dialog with the Good Food Podcast, Tom quipped that he has retained his “original name,” including, “I tell you, that would be the quickest way to revolution.

“I feel we’re a reasonably balanced and sober and smart nation on the complete. But if I out of the blue turned a prince, I feel that Buckingham Palace gates could be stormed. It could be appalling. I feel that would put again the lengthy and superb trigger of the monarchy in Britain by many years.”

The 50-year-old food writer, who is the eldest child of Queen Camilla and her ex-husband Andrew Parker Bowles, lauded the King as a “fountain of data” and a “hero of British farmers.”

“He has forgotten more than I’ll ever know,” he added.

Tom also shared the “unbelievable” experience of getting to hold the Crown Jewels when Charles and Camilla were preparing for the coronation ceremony.

He said, “They had some of the Crown Jewels, because the King and my mom needed to practise carrying [them] … and it was just, I feel it was the sceptre, or the diadem, I am unable to bear in mind.

“Anyway, just to hold it briefly was – you’re holding history, you’re holding 800 or 900 years of history, it’s incredible.”

Restaurant critic Tom Parker Bowles and his sister Laura Lopes were raised in a “very traditional” method in Wiltshire, with Tom lauding their mom Camilla as a wonderful “natural” cook dinner.

He shared, “I had a very traditional – albeit very happy and privileged – upbringing. It was a classic, comfortable English upbringing.”

When requested about his mom’s cooking, he added, “She’s a great cook, a natural cook, and there weren’t many spices… it was very, very traditional. I grew up in Wiltshire in the ’70s and early ’80s. We’d have English food.”

When questioned if being round the royal household had “changed his tastes,” he responded, “Not really, no.”

Tom was married to his only spouse, Sara Parker Bowles, between 2005 and 2018, they usually share one daughter, Lola, 18, who’s in her final yr of sixth kind.

Queen Camilla’s only son has also had an illustrious profession, writing 9 cookbooks and successful the Guild of Food Writers 2010 award for his writings on British meals.
