Dodgers place All-Star Justin Wrobleski on injured list

Dodgers place All-Star Justin Wrobleski on injured list…

A day after pitching six innings in a loss to the Milwaukee Brewers, Justin Wrobleski was positioned on the injured list with inflammation in his left forearm, per The Post’s Dylan Hernandez.

Right-hander Kyle Hurt was recalled from triple-A Oklahoma City to take Wrobleski’s place on the energetic roster and reinforce the Dodgers’ worn-down bullpen.

    Wrobleski, 26, has loved a breakout season with the Dodgers. A National League All-Star, he’s 11-5 with a 3.56 earned-run common even after a four-start winless streak.

The left-hander has pitched 126 ⅓ innings this 12 months, a career-high. He pitched 71 ⅔ innings in the major leagues last 12 months, including 5 in the postseason.

But the bounce in innings wasn’t as excessive because it initially seems. Between the majors and minors, Wrobleski pitched 123 ⅓ innings last 12 months. He pitched a mixed 132 innings the 12 months before that.

“I feel all right,” Wrobleski said after his six-inning start on Saturday evening. “It’s just part of a long season, part of something I got to get ready for years to come. Just trying to lean on people that have done it, and just again continue to try to take care of my body the best I can and feeling as good I can right now.”

Whatever he said, the innings have been clearly catching as much as him. He is 0-3 with an 8.69 earned-run common over his last 4 begins. In that stretch, he has given up 11 house runs in 19 ⅔ innings.

Two of those homers got as much as the Brewers on Saturday. Wrobleski was charged with 4 runs in six innings of the 4-1 loss.

Manager Dave Roberts said before the game that he wasn’t overly preoccupied with the workload, noting that “at some point in time” Wrobleski could be moved to the bullpen.

Instead of the pen, he’s on the shelf. For now.

Thankfully for the Dodgers, each Shohei Ohtani and Tyler Glasnow are nearing a return to the roation.
