Jane Fonda frolicked with Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner just hours before the couple have been tragically discovered useless.

The acclaimed When Harry Met Sally director and his spouse have been found deceased at their Los Angeles residence on December 14, with the 87-year-old actress revealing she had seen them the night previous to their surprising deaths.

Taking to Instagram on Monday (15.12.25), she shared: “I saw them the night before last looking healthy and happy.

“I’m reeling with grief. Stunned.”

In a heartfelt message, Jane characterized the pair as “sensible, humorous, beneficiant people”, and disclosed she had been collaborating with them to relaunch the Committee of the First Amendment, an organization initially founded by Jane and fellow Hollywood figures in 1947.

The couple had been guests at a Christmas celebration thrown by Conan O’Brien on the evening before their deaths.

PEOPLE magazine reported that witnesses observed the pair engaged in an intense dispute with their son, Nick Reiner, during the event.

The husband and wife were discovered lifeless at their property the following afternoon, with Nick subsequently taken into custody and charged with murder.

He remains in jail without the possibility of bail. Last month, Jane opened up about enduring a “robust yr” following the losses of close friends Gene Hackman, Robert Redford, and Diane Keaton in February, September, and October, respectively.

At the Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Power’s EmPower Party, Jane told People: “It’s been a tricky yr.”

Reflecting on Hackman, she said: “You know, there’s him and Redford.

“He came down her to support GCAPP. And we screened Barefoot in the Park.”

The Barbarella icon went on: “And Diane Keaton – I just finished working with her. Boy, I was shocked. Really shocked. You get to be old and everybody is dying around you.”
