Jennifer Lopez denies dating rumors with co-star Brett
Jennifer Lopez has firmly dismissed any romantic hypothesis between herself and co-star Brett Goldstein.
The pair appeared on the TODAY Show on Tuesday, June 2, to debate their forthcoming Netflix romantic comedy, Office Romance. In the movie, J.Lo, 56, performs Jackie Cruz, an airline CEO who develops emotions for her new worker, lawyer Daniel Blanchflower, portrayed by Brett, 45. Fans have been buzzing about the duo’s on-screen chemistry during their promotional tour, with many hoping the connection extends past the cameras.
Brett’s public admiration for J.Lo and the fact that he co-wrote the movie particularly with her in thoughts has only intensified hypothesis about a possible real-life romance. The Hustlers star has remained single since her divorce from Ben Affleck was finalized in January. When not too long ago requested if she’d contemplate showing on The Bachelorette, she shot down the concept.
J.Lo equally pushed again against host Savannah Guthrie’s line of questioning on the NBC morning present, studies the Mirror US.
The 54-year-old journalist referenced the swirling dating rumors, saying, “You know what everyone’s saying: That it might be real.”
“There’s never a time when I’m seen with somebody or working with somebody where they don’t try to put me with the person,” J.Lo responded.
“I think if you stand near her, that’s what happens,” Brett added about J.Lo. Savannah playfully instructed that’s what he “wishes” would occur. The Ted Lasso actor agreed, saying, “That’s why I’ve been standing so close this whole time.”
Savannah challenged J.Lo and Brett for seemingly sidestepping her query, stating, “Okay, but I’ll just say, because I’m me and you know me. That was not an answer.”
J.Lo disagreed with Savannah’s characterization of their response.
“That was not an answer? It was an answer! Because all these people that they put me, I think I was with Kevin Costner this year. I was with … there was a lot of people. It happens all the time. Doesn’t make it true,” J.Lo replied.
Savannah continued with her line of questioning, asking immediately, “Okay, so you’re not dating in real life?”
Both J.Lo and Brett firmly dismissed the hypothesis. The mom of two answered “Not dating,” with Brett confirming, “Correct.”
Later in the interview, J.Lo referenced Savannah’s direct questioning about the dating rumors. As Savannah was organising a trivia game however could not discover her notes, J.Lo teased that Savannah appeared “flustered,” and Savannah acknowledged it, saying, “I did, I got flustered. It’s you, Jennifer!”
J.Lo laughed and then quipped, “You tried to fluster us, and we flustered you!”
Office Romance is streaming on Netflix on June 5.
