Keith Urban branded a ‘triple menace’ amid Nicole
Keith Urban has been branded a “triple threat” just days after it was reported that he was “in hiding” following news of his divorce from Nicole Kidman.
Keith and Nicole’s break up was confirmed on September 29, and the 57-year-old singer is now starring in his very personal tv collection, The Road.
The CBS present – which also options Blake Shelton – provides 12 rising artists the probability to open for four-time Grammy Award winner Keith while he is on the highway, as they also compete for a $250,000 prize bundle and recording alternatives.
Among those contestants is Adam Sanders, a 37-year-old singer songwriter, who grew up in Florida however now lives in Nashville.
Speaking completely to Daily Express U.S., Adam opened up about what it was like assembly Keith – and getting to affix him on a tour across America.
Describing Keith as “one of the biggest acts in our format,” Adam explained, “I call him the triple threat; he can play them, he can sing them, and he can write them!

When asked if Keith had given him any advice while they were filming The Road, Adam revealed, “For me, it was figuring out what makes you different than anybody else, and actually leaning into that.”
“You know, there’s already a Keith Urban, there’s already a Blake Shelton, so discovering what’s you and what do you do best, better than anybody else, and lean into that, and that’s your lane, and that’s your model.
“Because no one can beat you at you. You know, if you play in someone else’s sandbox, you’re gonna get beat, you know. So I think that’s both of those guys are the best of what they do,” Adam added.
He went on to share why he thinks veiwers will take pleasure in The Road, even if they are not essentially a nation music fan.
“I would say that country music has become sort of the melting pot of all genres, a little bit of this, a little bit of that, in country music,” Adam explained.
“And so what this show brings is 12 different artists with a little bit of a different flavor. You got something that’s really, really country, something that leans maybe a little more pop, something a little more Americana… so for whatever type of music you listen to, there’s probably an artist on the show that you’re gonna like.”
In the first episode of the collection, Keith – who shares two daughters with 58-year-old actress Nicole – is seen sharing intimate particulars about the loneliness and hardship that comes with life on the highway, and didn’t draw back from describing the brutal actuality of being separated from family members for prolonged intervals.
“Where do we start? It’s a calling, and you’re going to do it or you’re not going to make it,” he says.
He then particulars the particular moments when the isolation turns into insufferable.
“When you wake up on a tour bus at 3:30 in the morning and you’re sick as a dog, you’re in the middle of nowhere and you’ve got to play your fifth show later that night, and you haven’t slept, and you miss your friends, and you’re missing your family, and you’re completely lonely and miserable and sick, and you say to yourself, ‘Why am I doing this?'” he recollects.
“The only answer can be: Because this is what I’m born to do.”
The Road airs Sunday nights at 9pm ET on CBS and can be out there to look at on Paramount+ the following day.
