Country star Keith Urban took an unlikely job as he recovers from his costly divorce together with his ex-wife Nicole Kidman, which was estimated to price hundreds of thousands.
Nicole and Keith formally finalizing their divorce on January 6, after initially seperating in September of 2025. The former couple ended their 19-year-long marriage, with reviews stating that they reached a settlement through which they cut up their property and Nicole, 58, was granted major custody of their daughters.
While Keith has a staggering web price of $75 million, one source believes Keith’s pockets may very well be hurting as he accepted an unlikely gig acting on cruise ships. In early March, the 58-year-old singer hit the high seas performing for the Bahamas-bound vessel Top Shelf Country Cruise to a gaggle of vacationers.
Speaking on Keith’s atypical present, one insider told New Idea, “It’s the kind of gig that Keith would have turned his nose up at during his marriage to Nicole Kidman.”
They went on to add, “Cruise ships are not exactly the dream gig, but they pay the bills – and it gives Keith something to focus on. He’s trying to stay busy now that his divorce is finalized.”

While the pair agreed to no spousal or baby help funds as a part of their settlement, the insider said, “when there’s that much money involved in a split, the lawyers don’t come cheap, regardless of the outcome.”
The Top Shelf Country Cruise is a luxury themed cruise featuring live country music performances from top artists like Lee Brice, Scotty McCreery, and Riley Green, Lauren Alaina, Randy Houser, and Jackson Dean, and more. While Keith’s exact paycheck has not been revealed, the source believes that he could’ve been offered a high six-figure or even seven-figure sum.
The insider continued, “He’s putting a bright spin on everything right now, but singing on a cruise ship is a big change from performing at his own sell-out tour last year.”
Outside of his cruise gig, Keith is currently waiting to see if his reality show The Road will be renewed for a second season. And while Keith has some extra time on his hands now, he has a jam-packed 2026.

The source said, “However, Keith is determined to keep working while he figures out, with his new management team, some exciting plans for the latter part of this year.”
They continued, “He has every intention of ending 2026 the exact opposite of how it started – on a total high.”
This 12 months the Somebody Like You hitmaker is embarking on a summertime tour, which incorporates concert events across the U.S. spanning from late May to August. Major stops during this tour embody competition performances at Gulf Coast Jam, Country Summer Music Festival, and Country Thunder Wisconsin. He is also launching a new, shock covers album targeted on Nineteen Seventies/80s yacht rock.
