Nancy Guthrie’s neighbors ‘are worried about their

The 84-year-old mom of Today present host Savannah Guthrie has been lacking for almost three weeks.

Authorities, including the Pima County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI, say the investigation is ongoing, with the objective of finding Nancy and holding the accountable celebration accountable. Despite their efforts, the slow tempo has little question brought about rising concern among Tucson residents, who concern for their personal security.

Jim, a local resident chatting with Fox News, has addressed the considerations of his community.

“Tucson is a very tight community and a very secure community, and this has rattled quite a few people, to be honest, because this type of crime and this type of notoriety that we are getting nationally is just not what we are used to here, everybody is praying that everybody gets their act together and they find this guy and return Nancy safe and sound,” he said.

Nancy was reported missing on February 1. Since then, police have recovered multiple pieces of evidence and followed up on tens of thousands of leads.

The strongest evidence comes from security footage at Nancy’s home, which the FBI released publicly. The video provided a description of the suspect, even though he wore a balaclava to hide his face.

“The suspect is described as a male, roughly 5’9”-5’10” tall, with a mean build. In the video, he’s carrying a black, 25-liter ‘Ozark Trail Hiker Pack’ backpack,” the FBI statement read.

A $200,000 reward has been offered jointly by the FBI and local officials for information that leads to Nancy.

Hopes were dashed when black gloves matching the ones worn by the suspect in the video footage, did not produce DNA matches in the FBI’s CODIS system. Border Patrol cameras showed no sign of Nancy crossing into Mexico yet another setback. DNA testing, including blood from Nancy’s home, is still ongoing. The lack of arrests has increased feelings of unease among locals.

Terry, another resident, said Nancy’s disappearance has changed the way people protect themselves adding many are “worried about their security” now that a potential kidnapper could be nearby. He stated, in a neighborhood where door were often left unlocked, people are no longer taking that risk.

Although visible progress in the case has been limited, authorities have received ransom notes through media outlets. TMZ founder Harvey Levin has been updating the public while coordinating with the FBI. One note demanded $6 million in Bitcoin, while another, different in tone, claimed to know Nancy’s whereabouts and asked for a reward for that information. Cryptocurrency expert Bezalel Eithan Raviv, speaking to Page Six said despite the misconception, Bitcoin is “not nameless” and can be easily traced to the account holder.

Mary, a Tucson resident, said the sense of safety in the area has disappeared, “I’m being more vigilant about my environment and locking my doorways, and I actually empathize along with her household. I believe it’s terrible, I can’t think about having to live by this and never figuring out the place my mom was, that is just unthinkable to me.”
