Nate Oats’ new wife rehired by Alabama after scandalous start to…
Alex Accetta, the wife of Alabama males’s basketball’s head coach Nate Oats, rejoined the Crimson Tide employees as the director of program relations, the college announced Thursday in a press release.
Accetta, who married Oats in July, beforehand labored with the basketball program in 2015 as a pupil assistant before being promoted to operations coordinator in 2017 and then director of basketball operations in 2021.
Oats, 51, and Accetta, 31, had been married after he quietly divorced his earlier wife, Crystal Oats, in 2023 after 26 years.

Oats and Accetta received engaged in April.
Accetta returns to Tuscaloosa after 4 seasons with the Mavericks working with visitor experience and enterprise operations (2022-23 by way of 2025-26 seasons).

In her function as director of program relations, Accetta will probably be reporting to govt deputy AD/chief working officer and males’s basketball sport administrator Shane Lyons.
“Alex has an extensive background and proven success in this space at both the collegiate and professional levels,” Lyons said in the release. “With her earlier experience, she has a strong understanding of our program and what it takes to successfully function at the highest competitive ranges.
“She returns to Alabama basketball after four seasons with the NBA Dallas Mavericks, and we expect her professional franchise experience and insights to continue to advance all we do.”

Oats has been the head basketball coach at Alabama since March 2019.
Following the 2025-26 season, Oats obtained a contract extension that is ready to maintain him at the helm of the program by way of the 2032 season.
Oats and his ex-wife, who married in 1997, have three daughters: Lexie, Jocelyn and Brielle.
