    ‘No reconciliation’ for King Charles and Prince Harry


    King Charles and Queen Camilla hosted Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their two youngsters, marking a major development of their household relations.

    The assembly came about at Highgrove House, the personal residence of King Charles and Queen Camilla in Gloucestershire, England.

    The Palace described the assembly as a “private family occasion,” according to the BBC, and no images or further details are expected to be released regarding the meeting.

    Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s relationship with the royal family has appeared to be strained since they decided to step back from their official royal duties and relocate to California to raise their two children in 2020.

    The last time Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, were in the U.K. was in June 2022 when they attended Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had also attended Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in September 2022.

    The meeting last week was also only the third time that Prince Harry and his father met since the King’s cancer diagnosis in 2024.

    “She is a non-negotiable part of Charles’s life,” royal author Catherine Mayer of Divide and Rule told People, relating to Queen Elizabeth’s presence in the King’s life. “There is no reconciliation with him without her.”

    “Highgrove doesn’t have the pomp and circumstance or institutional aspects of a palace,” Mayer told People. “It reveals this as a family matter—a human matter.”

    “It is better that people don’t know anything about these meetings,” a source near the household also told the outlet about the personal household assembly. “They should be allowed to rekindle those family ties.”

    Sources had told the BBC that Prince Harry and King Charles wished time to satisfy, and the King wished to spend time along with his two grandchildren.

    During his go to to the U.Ok., Prince Harry spent the week attending numerous charity occasions, including the one-year countdown to next summer time’s Invictus Games in Birmingham, England. The Invictus Games is a sporting event for wounded, injured, and sick service personnel and veterans.

    It was a big week for Prince Harry past his household assembly and charity occasions, as he misplaced his High Court privateness case against Associated Newspapers, the publisher of the Daily Mail.
