Savannah Guthrie shares statement after Nancy Guthrie

Savannah Guthrie issued a statement following the Pima County Sheriff’s Department’s release of two ransom letters associated to her lacking mom, Nancy.

The Today host, 54, posted to Instagram with {a photograph} of her mom alongside an intensive caption, describing how she has lived in “agony and despair ever since” 84-year-old Nancy was kidnapped from her Tucson residence. She went on to say her household’s hearts are “in ruins.”

She famous, “We spend every waking moment thinking of her, longing for her, looking for her.” Her statement follows the public disclosure of two ransom letters, one claiming that Nancy is deceased and that her demise was unintentional.

Savannah expressed the household’s want “to find out what happened to her, so that we can give her the dignity of a proper goodbye – a celebration of her remarkable life that she so deserves.”

“We are begging for help. We are desperate. We need someone to come forward. Someone knows something. Someone suspects something. Someone recognizes the writing in the ransom demand notes,” wrote Savannah.

Savannah continued, “Someone has noticed something different, strange, troubling or just unusual – perhaps with someone they deeply love. Perhaps they are afraid to come forward. Perhaps they are conflicted. Perhaps they are angry or upset for being in this situation. There is a way out – to tell what you know.”

She went on so as to add, “You can do so anonymously. The reward is available. There is a way to end this situation and do the right thing,” her submit continues. Savannah emphasised that her members of the family are “real people, facing real grief, doing the best we can.”

“We need your prayers, we need your kindness. We need the good to be stronger than the evil. If you are following this story for entertainment or for profit, you are not on her side – you are part of the harm perpetrated against her,” the submit reads.

“We will never stop looking for answers – and we will never stop looking for the light. We will always be hoping and praying and believing in the best of our world – in spite of circumstance,” continued Savannah, “This is what our faith makes possible.”

“Please. Bring her home,” she concluded.

The Today host’s message follows a ransom notice claiming Nancy handed away shortly after being kidnapped. The disturbing communication asserted that Nancy had “perished shortly after she was taken” and that the kidnappers “never intended to hurt her.”

Her alleged demise was described as “heart-related” by the sender. The correspondence went on, indicating that Nancy is “buried in nature now” and that “nothing you could have done could have changed the outcome.”

“We want your family to know this and hope you all can find peace. We are truly sorry,” concludes the letter. A letter claiming Nancy had died was obtained on February 6.

An earlier letter, which arrived on February 2, demanded $4 million in bitcoin by Feb. 5, warning that failure to pay by the deadline would see the ransom enhance to $6 million. The notice additional acknowledged that lacking the second deadline would result in Nancy being killed.

“Her life is in your hands,” reads the letter, “You will not be able to contact me from here on out, there will be no negotiation. Do not play games, law enforcement will not be able to help you.”
