FBI Director trashes Stephen A Smith theory on

FBI Director Kash Patel has slammed Stephen A. Smith’s allegations that Donald Trump was behind the current NBA playing arrests as “the single dumbest thing” he has ever heard.

On Thursday, just days after the NBA’s season opener, the league was shocked after it was reported Portland Trail Blazers’ head coach Chauncey Billups, Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier and former Cleveland Cavaliers participant Damon Jones, have been arrested following a years-long investigation by the FBI into unlawful playing and sports activities betting.

Following the announcement, Smith went on air during ESPN’s ‘First Take’, the place he expressed his theory that Trump had instructed Patel to make the arrests, without providing any proof.

“Bad Bunny is performing at the Super Bowl and all of a sudden you’re hearing ICE is going to be there looking to engage in mass deportations, the Super Bowl, disrupting things. Big night for the NBA, [Victor] Wembanyama put on a show… that has now been smeared because we’re talking about this story,” Smith said on ‘First Take’.

He continued: “Don’t be surprised if the WNBA is next on his list. When you’ve got all these protests going on out there, protesting against him… this man is coming, he’s coming.

“I’ve been saying it for a very long time. To me, this is the latest nugget of proof that we’re speaking about proper right here. That’s to not query the legitimacy of the case, we do not know.

“But anybody that has been around him, anybody that has talked to him and seen his reactions, from the sports leagues… they are not surprised at what’s going on today.

“I’m watching a press convention with the Director of the FBI, inform me once we’ve seen that? It’s not coincidental, it isn’t an accident, it is a assertion… and it is a warning that more is coming.

“In his eyes, folks tried to throw him in jail. In his eyes, he’s innocent and ‘they tried to put me behind bars. I’m getting everybody.’ He’s not playing. Everybody better brace themselves, because he’s coming.”

In response to Smith’s allegations, Patel hit again onerous.

Appearing on FOX News’ ‘The Ingraham Angle’, hosted by Laura Ingraham, Patel slammed Smith’s supposed conspiracy theory about Trump as ‘considered one of the dumbest issues he has ever heard’.

“I’m the FBI Director, I decide which arrests to conduct and which not to conduct,” Patel started.

“That may be the single dumbest thing I’ve ever heard out of anyone in modern history and I’ve lived most of my time in Washington D.C. It’s right up there with Adam Schiff, we arrest people for crimes.”
