We’re closing out Founders’ Week with the FINER Women of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. who, together, have embodied the BluPrint for service, scholarship, sisterhood, and finer womanhood during their 106 years in the Divine Nine.
Founded by 5 coeds on the campus of Howard University in 1920, the storied sorority raised the consciousness of their people while encouraging the highest requirements of scholastic achievement among its members.
From the very starting, these history-making women believed that sorority elitism overshadowed the true mission for progressive organizations without addressing the societal ills, prejudices, and poverty affecting humanity generally and the Black community particularly.
Since its inception, Zeta Phi Beta has ascended into the national highlight with packages demonstrating concern for the human condition each nationally and internationally.
With lots of of chapters worldwide and a membership of over 100,000, the group made historical past as the first National Pan-Hellenic Council group to centralize its operations in a national headquarters, first to constitution a chapter in Africa, first to kind auxiliary teams, and first to be constitutionally certain to a fraternity: Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
The sorority takes pleasure in reworking communities by means of volunteer providers from members and its auxiliaries by way of outreach providers and help of a number of affiliate organizations.
