Gwyneth Paltrow misplaced more than her marriage when she “consciously uncoupled” from Chris Martin.
During her look on “Good Hang with Amy Poehler” Tuesday, Paltrow, 53, revealed that her 2014 cut up from Martin, 48, price her a profession alternative.
“I was supposed to do a movie at one point… and it was right after the conscious uncoupling thing with Chris, and there was a lot of harsh stuff in the press, and I think the distributor was like, ‘This might be too hot to touch,’” she recalled.

“So that was great, cause I was getting a divorce and then I got fired. It was so awesome,” the “Marty Supreme” star sarcastically added.
Paltrow and Martin married in 2003 and separated in 2014, however their divorce was not finalized until 2016.
The former couple, who share daughter Apple, 21, and son Moses, 19, famously used the time period “consciously uncoupling” once they announced their cut up.

“Boy, were you ahead of your time. You really were,” Poehler, 54, told Paltrow on the podcast with reference to how the latter star outlined her breakup over ten years in the past.
“Which is good and bad,” Paltrow said with amusing, as she acknowledged that people really associated to the “consciously uncoupling” method.
“I do understand why it was so personal for people cause it was,” Paltrow shared. “You only see that reaction when it’s personal.”

While she’s been married to TV director, producer and author Brad Falchuk since 2018, Paltrow has remained shut along with her ex-husband.
“I think Chris and I were meant to be together and have our kids,” she told the UK’s Evening Standard in 2019. “But our relationship is much better like this: friends and co-parents and family.”
Paltrow added, “Family structure can be reinvented and divorce doesn’t have to be devastating. It doesn’t have to be the end of your relationship with somebody.”

In a 2020 Vogue UK essay, Paltrow revealed that she and the Coldplay musician “never fully settled into being a couple.”
“We just didn’t quite fit together,” she said. “There was always a bit of unease and unrest.”

Martin, for his half, revealed in 2016 that he suffered a “year of depression” after his cut up from Paltrow, however ultimately he bought used to his new actuality.
“It’s always out there in the media, but I have a very wonderful separation-divorce,” he told The Sunday Times. “It’s a divorce, but it’s a weird one.”
