Heartbreak for Prince William as friend dies in tragic

A former faculty friend of Prince William, Ben Duncan, 45, tragically died after plummeting seven tales from the rooftop bar of London’s Trafalgar St. James resort in the West End.

Ben was discovered lifeless shortly after Metropolitan Police officers had been called to research stories of a “man on the roof”. A spokesperson told Express.co.uk: “Officers responded to concerns for a man on the roof of a building in Cockspur Street, Westminster at 23:02hrs on Thursday, 30 October. The man sadly fell from height.

“Despite the best efforts from the London Ambulance Service, he was sadly pronounced lifeless at the scene. His demise is being as surprising however non-suspicious.” A consultant from the London Ambulance service also said: “We had been called at 10:59pm on Thursday 30 October to stories of an incident on Spring Gardens, City of Westminster.

“We dispatched resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, an incident response officer, paramedics in fast response cars and paramedics from our hazardous area response team (HART). We also sent a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance. Very sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, a man was pronounced dead at the scene.”

Broadcaster Mike Hollingsworth mourned his loss on Facebook, writing: “My dear, dear friend Benjamin (Ben) Duncan has left us.

“He lived life as Peter Pan – the boy who never grew up. He can be sorely missed by his many, many buddies, who grew to like his allure, his wit, his infectious snicker and his innate sense of favor. The world is a poorer place for his passing. RIP Benji.”

Ben was a close friend of Prince William and Princess Kate during their time at St Andrews University, where he was part of their inner circle.

He was among the first to know about Kate and William’s blossoming relationship. In 2010, he revealed: “Because we would had Will and Kate in our midst we had royal safety officers swarming the place. We knew that that they had hit it off and we knew that one thing was taking place, however they had been just left alone to get on with it.”

After commencement, Ben gained public recognition by way of his appearances on numerous TV reveals, including Channel 4’s Big Brother in 2010.
