Indianapolis Motor Speedway is honoring the late NASCAR racer Kyle Busch.
A memorial to Busch is being displayed Friday at the venue on the well-known scoring pylon after he died Thursday at 41.
“Everyone at Indianapolis Motor Speedway is heartbroken to learn of the passing of Kyle Busch. Kyle was one of the most dominant racers in IMS history,” J. Douglas Boles, the president of the racetrack, said in an announcement Thursday. “He was a fan favourite beloved for his competitive spirit and fervour. He understood what racing and profitable at Indianapolis means.
“Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with his wife, Samantha, children Brexton and Lennix, the entire Busch family, Richard Childress Racing, and the entire NASCAR family.”
