Phil Collins has shared a health update, confirming he has no plans to return to the stage.
The former Genesis frontman, 74, has maintained a low profile after a string of health points pressured him to retire from his music profession. He lately underwent 5 knee surgical procedures and skilled kidney problems.
During Friday’s (May 22) episode of BBC Breakfast, Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt returned to screens to ship the day’s top tales from the UK and round the world.
Early in the program, the presenting pair revealed that the iconic musician had spoken with one among their colleagues about his health and future aspirations, 4 years after his retirement from live performance.

Speaking with Charlotte, he mentioned his knee issues overtly while disclosing that he is “healthier than he has been in a while.”
He said: “The last 18 months have been fine, but before that, not so good. Everything health-wise caught up to me at the same time. Whatever could go wrong did go wrong, but everything is fine now.”
The legendary musician continued: “I had a problem with my knee, which I had for a while, but I played through it – toured through it. But eventually, I had to have a knee operation, and I had to have five – five times because it kept either getting infected or it broke, so I was inactive for a long time.”
Phil’s musical profession started in 1970, when he turned Genesis’s drummer. Alongside his work with the group, he carved out a profitable solo profession during the Eighties, delivering chart-toppers such as Against All Odds and Two Hearts.
Though his health has improved, he acknowledged having zero plans to take the stage again, although he’s been tinkering with recent materials that would possibly see the light of day if he ever considers a shock return.
Opening up, he revealed, “I can’t really see it (performing) happening, but I’m healthier now than I have been for quite a while. I mean, this Rock and Roll Hall of Fame – they asked if I would perform and I said no because you know, you’ve got to be match fit to do something like that.”
He elaborated, “You can’t just go on stage, you’ve got to rehearse, and then by that point, if you’ve not been singing, your voice is going to be shot, and then that’s not going to be good, so I’d rather not do it.
“But whether or not I’d go out again… I’d ponder. I’m always saying to myself, ‘I’ve obtained to return down into my studio at dwelling.'” The singer went on to say: “I’ve obtained a lot of lyrical concepts that I write down, and there are issues that are half-fashioned and a few issues that are completed. So there’s one thing that I can get my tooth into to start engaged on.”
