    Comedian Jeff Dye is becoming a member of the rising wave of entertainers leaving Los Angeles behind. 

    During a Nov. 2 look on “The Joe Rogan Experience,” the 42-year-old “The Wedding Year” alum revealed he was shopping for a home in Texas after changing into deeply involved by the route California was taking under the management of Gov. Gavin Newsom. 

    “I’m kind of in this kind of LA thing, and I could be guilty of being a victim of what I’m absorbing in my algorithm. But Gavin Newsom scares the s–t out of me and I don’t want to be a part of it,” Dye said.

    Dye also famous he was alarmed by the state and metropolis governments’ response to the fires that devastated elements of LA in January.

    “Those fires were quite a wake-up call,” he said. “Even if, you know, whatever you believe about the fires, the way it was dealt with was pretty scary.” 

    “It was not competent, that’s for sure,” Rogan agreed. 

    “Even the aftermath,” Dye added.

    Fox News Digital has reached out to Newsom’s workplace for remark. 

    The LA fires scorched over 55,000 acres, destroyed more than 16,000 buildings and prompted no less than 29 deaths.

    The two largest fires had been the Palisades Fire, which burned 6,837 buildings and killed 12 people, and the Eaton Fire, which decimated 9,414 buildings and claimed 18 lives. 

    Both Newsom and LA Mayor Karen Bass confronted instant backlash over the administration of the fires. Critics alleged that, despite recurring wildfire danger, authorities had not carried out sufficient upfront to mitigate the hazard.

    Among the points raised had been water provide issues and firefighting assets being stretched or compromised.

    Many residents and some local officers have expressed frustration with the slow recovery in the wake of the fires, citing bureaucratic challenges, important delays with allowing, insurance coverage disputes and infrastructure issues.

    During Dye’s look on the podcast, the comic and Rogan also slammed celebrities who declared that they would depart the United States if President Donald Trump was elected for a second time period.

    “They go, ‘I’m going to move.’ They make those kind of threats,” Dye said. 

    “Some people do move,” Rogan pointed out.

    “Yeah, some people do,” Dye agreed. “I respect Rosie [O’Donnell] and Ellen [DeGeneres] for that.” 

    In March, O’Donnell said she fled the nation together with her youngster Clay on Jan. 15, 5 days before President Trump’s inauguration. 

    At the time, the former “The View” host said she was residing in Ireland and was in the technique of making use of for Irish citizenship.

    “It’s been pretty wonderful, I have to say,” O’Donnell said in a video on TikTok. “And the people have been so loving, so sort and so welcoming. And I’m very grateful.

    In November 2024, DeGeneres and spouse Portia de Rossi relocated from Montecito, California, to the Cotswolds area in England.

    During her first UK look since relocating, DeGeneres said the transfer was initially meant to be a part-time getaway however turned everlasting after Trump’s re-election. 

    “We got here the day before the election and woke up to lots of texts from our friends with crying emojis, and I was like, ‘He got in’,” DeGeneres said, according to the BBC. “And we’re like, ‘We’re staying here’.”

    While talking with Rogan, Dye said it was “dumb that they left because now they just can’t vote.”

    “But at least they left,” he added. “Hundreds of celebrities said they would leave and didn’t.”
