The Angels traded outfielder Jo Adell to the Cleveland Guardians on Monday ahead of the MLB trade deadline.

This marks the end of Adell’s seven-season tenure in LA, after the Angels took him with the No. 10 choose of the 2017 MLB Draft. Adell made his debut in 2020 however wasn’t a constant starter for Los Angeles until 2024.
The 27-year-old Adell had a .240 common, 16 dwelling runs and a .684 OPS when he was traded. While these offensive stats aren’t extraordinary, Adell’s defensive prowess was a big a part of his trade worth.
Adell’s defensive talents have been best shown when he robbed three dwelling runs during a game in April, which nine-time Gold Glove Award winner Torii Hunter (arguably the biggest defender in Angels franchise historical past) said was “probably the greatest defensive game I’ve ever seen.”
