    Martha Stewart sparks debate about ‘best time’ to eat


    The query of what time is best to serve up your Thanksgiving dinner stays a point that’s always up for debate.

    Iconic homemaker Martha Stewart appeared to settle the argument as she gave her recommendation on when is best to take pleasure in a tasty meal for Thanksgiving, however she only sparked additional debate over the issue.

    Martha shared her superb timeline for when dinner must be served in a new interview.

    Speaking on Today on Thursday, November 13, Martha, 84, appeared sporting a sash that said “Thanksgiving” as she explained her stance. She said, “2 o’clock in the afternoon. People are hungry! And they’re starting to circle the kitchen.”

    “You know, if you have a bunch of guests, you don’t want to wait until nighttime. You can eat, and then watch the big game, and then have more drinks and have fun, and eat dessert later.”

    Fans then took to social media to further discuss the point. One wrote, “I’m in central California. I’ve had meals start as early as 2pm and as late as 7:30pm. I believe it relies on the household.” A second said, “Basically: You want sufficient time beforehand to get actually hungry, you want loads of time afterwards to digest your stuff-ed-ness.”

    A third shared, “Aim for 2pm, often more like 3pm. Gives the host time to get every part prepped, and friends time to get there, eat, socialise and be dwelling at a good hour, leaving the host loads of time to clear up.”

    A fourth social media user offered, “Main course is at midday this 12 months, with early arrivals consuming snacks from deviled eggs to a cheese/meat tray. Leftovers start as early as 5 to 6 pm, relying on whether or not the friends have had sufficient Yahtzee/playing cards/TV.”

    A fifth commented, “I’m (64f) the grandma, and so, therefore (by default and because I really like to do it), I’m the hostess. I’ve Thanksgiving dinner ready round the common supper time: 5pm or so. I’m an evening owl. I dislike having a big, heavy meal early in the day, and I do not need to have to rise up at the ass morning time to start cooking.

    “I do a lot of preparation in the days beforehand. I know when to start what so everything is done around the same time.”

    Another echoed, “2 pm. Everybody arrives about 12:30 or 1:00 and helps with the final meal prep, putting the 4×8 sheet of plywood on the table, setting the table, rounding up the extra chairs, etc. We take a break before dessert to clean up and watch football, then reconvene at 5:00 for pies, followed by spiked coffee. The families with little kids go home, and the rest of us hang around till it’s time to snack on leftovers.”
