Pete Davidson returns to ‘SNL,’ roasts Colin Jost Staten Island ferry…
Pete Davidson isn’t happening with the ship.
The comic, 31, poked enjoyable at his and Colin Jost’s notorious Staten Island ferry boat as the pair reunited at the “Weekend Update” desk during Davidson’s shock look on “Saturday Night Live” this weekend.
“So yeah, in case you’re wondering why I had to do a show in Saudi Arabia, we’re losing millions on this ferry,” Davidson joked, referring to his latest stint at the Riyadh Comedy Festival.

“I assume that’s what the article says; I can’t spend $5 on a paywall when I got a kid on the way,” added Davidson, who’s anticipating his first youngster with girlfriend Elsie Hewitt.
The comedian, who left “SNL” in May 2022 after eight seasons, quipped that he’s “just excited to be a dad and give it all the energy and enthusiasm I never had for this show.”

“I will tell you on the other side, I definitely prefer having a kid to the ferry,” said Jost, 43, who shares son Cosmo, 4, with spouse Scarlett Johansson.
Davidson explained that they “even gave the boat a new name,” including, ”We thought the Staten Island Ferry sounded too miserable, so now it’s called the Titanic II.”
“That’s right, and it’s actually going very well,” Jost famous. “Recently, we got paid by Nike to put an ad on it for the New York City Marathon.”

As he spoke about perseverance, Davidson threw shade at “SNL” creator Lorne Michaels, 80.
“If Lorne Michaels has taught us anything, it’s that you never, ever give up, even if everyone says the time has come and Tina Fey is ready to take over,” Davidson joked, as Jost and an off-camera Michael Che couldn’t maintain again their laughter.

Davidson then told viewers that he has “a great idea to make this ferry more of a success” after Zohran Mamdani‘s NYC mayoral election victory.
“We just had an election, and if you don’t mind I have a message for everyone who did not vote for our new mayor: ‘Hey, Staten Islanders, did you promise to move out of New York if Mamdani won but have too many warrants for New Jersey and not enough guns for Florida? Well, welcome to New Staten Island. It will have everything that makes Staten Island great: the pizza…’” Davidson said, as he instantly ended the record.
“That was the whole list?” Jost requested while the viewers laughed.

“New Staten Island!” Davidson continued. “We can’t call it the Titanic anymore since the people on this ship will actually love running into ICE.”
Jost famous that he thinks it’s “gonna be a big year” for the pair, which Davidson agreed with it and said he “couldn’t be more excited” for what’s ahead.
“My point is, the ferry, it’s fine,” the “Meet Cute” star said. “Sometimes, the news just makes things worse than they are. Like how everyone was sure certain people would be exposed and ruined for being on the Epstein list. But look, it’s 2025 and all three of us are still up here.”

Davidson and Jost bought the ferry at public sale for $280,000 in 2022. The partnership, which incorporates architect and developer Ron Castellano and comedy club proprietor Paul Italia, reportedly deliberate to convert it right into a $34 million leisure venue.

Jost beforehand told People that shopping for the ferry was “absolutely the dumbest and least thought-through purchase I’ve ever made in my life.”
