Richard Gere and Diana Silvers appeared shut as they rode by way of Central Park together while filming their upcoming romantic drama, Asymmetry, a film centered on a relationship between two people separated by a long time in age.

Gere, 76, and Silvers, 28, have been photographed aboard a pedicab embellished with roses during a break from filming in New York.

The actors have a 48-year age distinction. Gere turns 77 on August 31, widening the hole to 49 years.

Silvers has beforehand described herself as feeling significantly older than her precise age.

Speaking to ELLE in 2019, she said, “I feel like I’m 85 inside.”

She offered a similar description to WWD that year, saying, “I’m like a 70-year-old man at coronary heart.”

In Asymmetry, Gere plays Ezra Blazer, a celebrated 70-year-old author who begins a clandestine relationship with Alice, a 25-year-old editorial assistant portrayed by Silvers.

The story unfolds around the beginning of the Iraq War and examines ambition, intimacy, power and the consequences of a relationship that develops largely out of public view.

The film’s official description says a chance encounter between the pair changes the course of their lives.

“Their one second of eye contact [in Central Park] sparks a connection that leads them each down a life-changing rabbit gap, the place they create a personal world just for 2,” the logline read.

“Ezra, well-known for his audacious work, finds somebody with whom he could be brazenly susceptible, and Alice finds the braveness to explore her personal aspirations as a author. Until it’s all put in danger when their secret relationship is uncovered.”

Producer Stacey Snider has described the film as an examination of assumptions surrounding relationships marked by major differences in age and status.

She explained, “Asymmetry tells an unconventional love story that explores an inconceivable connection between two people at very different phases of their lives, which challenges their – and our – preconceptions about love and energy.”
