The View’s Whoopi Goldberg rages over White House

Whoopi Goldberg and the women of The View opened Tuesday’s episode discussing Donald Trump’s White House ballroom after surprising photos of a demolished East Wing had been launched.

When plans for the $250 million, 90,000-square-foot ballroom had been laid out by the president, he promised that the White House wouldn’t be affected by the building. The hosts blasted Trump over the demolition, with Whoopi passionately declaring, “That is not your building. You don’t own that building.”

She and Joy Behar then burst into tune, singing “You don’t own it” to the tune of Leslie Gore’s 1964 hit tune You Don’t Own Me.

The hosts dubbed Trump an “annihilist,” a “human wrecking ball,” and “America’s Marie Antoinette,” as they argued that he doesn’t have the proper to destroy any a part of the White House, because it doesn’t belong to him, however relatively the American people.

Whoopi sang, “You don’t own it. You cannot take it down. You don’t own it. Take your behind to another town.”

While the president’s pet project is privately funded, he didn’t obtain building approval from the federal company that oversees such tasks.

Whoopi, 69, slammed the president, 79, for destroying the historic constructing. “I mean, come on. You don’t own that building. That is the people’s building. You don’t own it,” the actress fumed. “That would be like me going over to Trump Tower and saying I’m gonna build a disco.”

Fellow host Sunny Hostin agreed, including,”This is a metaphor for what’s going on in our country. He is tearing down the house. He is tearing down the people’s house.” He does appear to suppose that it is his home.”

Joy, 83, pointed to the optics of the lavish project. “People are dropping their authorities jobs,” she noted, “It’s a really dangerous look proper now, to be constructing and demolishing all this gold cheesy crap that he loves.”

The hosts critiqued Trump’s style while analyzing the mock-up of the ballroom. “It seems to be like a on line casino,” Whoopi said, as Sunny, 57, echoed, “It seems to be like Mar-A-Lago, it is cheesy.”

They also snuck in a subtle jab at the First Lady, noting that the section of the White House that was destroyed was where the First Lady has offices and staff, but that it didn’t matter much since Melania’s “never there.”

Joy seethed, “He’s pooping on the American people actually with that factor,” referencing a weird AI-generated video Trump posted in response to the ‘No Kings’ protests this weekend that depicts him flying a navy plane and dumping what seems to be fecal matter over people marching in the streets.

Construction on the new ballroom is anticipated to be accomplished someday before the end of Trump’s second time period in January 2029.
