Tom Selleck addresses ‘Boston Blue’ cameo rumors…
Tom Selleck has spoken.
The “Magnum, P.I.” alum has lastly addressed whether or not he may make a cameo in the new “Blue Bloods” spinoff, “Boston Blue,” following the authentic collection’ shocking cancellation.
“I don’t know if I’d do ‘Boston Blue,’” Selleck, 80, told Hour Detroit during a recent interview. “That’s another present.”

“I think it’s partly my lot in life to make sure ‘Blue Bloods’ has its place in television history,” he explained. “But I don’t think it’s my lot in life to keep playing Frank Reagan.”
Selleck portrayed Frank Reagan, an NYPD officer and later police commissioner, on the hit CBS present from its 2010 premiere until its finale last yr.
The collection also starred Donnie Wahlberg (Danny Reagan), Bridget Moynahan (Erin Reagan) and Will Estes (Jamie Reagan).

Despite being one among CBS’ best-performing packages for its complete 14-season run, the network announced its cancellation in November 2023.
The final season concluded last December, and “Boston Blue” kicked off this past October.
“It was a huge disappointment, and I still don’t know why CBS did it,” Selleck said relating to the “Blue Bloods” cancellation. “If you get rid of the football, we were the sixth most popular series in all of television.”

Selleck beforehand shared his profession plans after “Blue Bloods” during a chat with Parade shortly before the present’s collection finale.
“I don’t know where my next job will take me,” he said last yr. “A good Western is always on my list. I miss that. I want to sit on a horse again.”
“I would love to do another comedy. The right kind of comedy,” the “Three Men and a Baby” star continued. “‘Friends’ made people laugh and cry at times. That’s the kind of comedy I enjoy doing.”

At the time, Selleck expressed an curiosity in returning as Frank Reagan in “Boston Blue.”
“I’m open to suggestions, because I love Frank Reagan, but nobody’s really asked,” he told the outlet. “I don’t see him retiring and going off somewhere.”
Wahlberg, meanwhile, revealed what Selleck thinks of the new “Blue Bloods” spinoff during a more latest chat with Parade last month.

The “Saw” star has reprised his position as Danny Reagan for “Boston Blue.” The present sees him depart NYC for Boston after his son, Sean Reagan (Mika Amonsen), joins the BPD.

“And I can’t really get into the details of those conversations, but he’s been very supportive,” he added. “I can say, would I love for Tom to come up to Boston? Sure. Or would I love Danny to go to New York and visit Frank? Absolutely, yes.”
Wahlberg, however, admitted that Selleck must be the one to finally resolve whether or not he returns for “Boston Blue.”

“Tom’s always going to base his decisions on the work and material, and so yes, of course, I’d love to work with him on the show,” he said.
“When the time comes, we will hopefully craft an idea that moves his heart and makes him want to do it,” Wahlberg concluded.
