William and Kate achieve ‘near-impossible’ with kids
Kate Middleton arrives in Southampton
Prince William and Kate Middleton have achieved the “near-impossible” with their youngsters during their most current Royal outing, a physique language skilled says.
On Saturday, August 1, William and Kate attended the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, with their three youngsters — Prince George, 13, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8. They drew thunderous applause as they settled into their seats inside the 5,000-seat stadium to look at the netball.
The household outing at the sporting event — held every 4 years for athletes across the Commonwealth of Nations — marked the kids’ first official public outing in Scotland, according to a number of British shops. However, according to physique language skilled Judi James, the look also marked the first time the Walses gave the impression to be “a relaxed, happy and sociable team.”
After analyzing a clip of highlights from the Royal Family’s time at the event, James told The Express US, “William and Kate appear to have achieved the near-impossible with their children.”
She continued, “Even though they’re growing and moving out of childhood and even though they could easily be wilting under the restrictions of ‘royal’ protocol and behaviors at public events like these, they now move and display as a relaxed, happy and sociable team with a very flexible and easy-going form of dynamics and pecking order.”

She went on so as to add, “William and Kate’s own dynamic is almost organic-looking now, with William leading at times, but Kate naturally taking over the visual leadership role as they meet the crowds and the competitors. As a result, their children see both parents in a strong leadership role rather than the more traditional set-up of the heir to the throne having to be at the front at all times.”
James additional explained, “William walks ahead as they arrive here, but by the time they’re approaching the crowds, it’s Kate firmly in the lead as the flexible family flotilla rotates.
The choreography appears natural but it’s clear from the way that William places one reassuring and encouraging hand onto Louis’s back as they walk towards the large groups of fans that he’s keen to provide a sense of solid protection and back-up to his children, while Kate at the front creates the social links, walking with her fingers touching together in a tentative, polite social clasp as she rotates her smile from the fans to her family as a form of link and introduction, as though she is ‘presenting’ one to the other with an expression of delight.”
James also explained how William and Kate’s youngsters dealt with the stress of being in the highlight during their look.
She said that William and Kate did not “seem to have drilled a sense of royal behavioral rules into their children in the way that previous generations of royal parents did, their body language suggests they use contagious enthusiasm signals to actually grow a sense of active enjoyment in public events.”

James added of George, Charlotte, and Louis, “This looks like a genuinely fun outing for them, with Louis of course still providing all the comedy and the playful action.”
As for the second-in-line to the British throne, who will attend Eton College in the fall, James noticed, “George seems to accompany Kate more than he used to, but he also seems to gravitate back to his dad’s side, with the pair’s mirroring signals showing the strong bonds of affection, friendship and even some hero-worship are still firmly in place.”
James also famous that there’s “a form of social and royal evolution from the children’s body language behavior, too.”
She explained, “During their meet and greets, we would often see them prompted by a parental hand on the back as they stepped forward shyly to shake hands before stepping back and watching their parents engage in all the small talk. In these photos and clips now, though, we can see a growing confidence and authentic understanding of their royal role as all three children appear to be stepping forward and stepping up in terms of participating in the small talk chats.”
James recommended Charlotte specifically for seeming more confident about speaking to the public during the event.
The physique language skilled explained, “Charlotte, in particular, is standing to the front listening intensely as an athlete is talking, and there is a suggestion that the children are becoming much more active in these conversations. Charlotte has also mastered the art her mother excels at, which is the perfect and sustained royal smile that still manages to look genuine.”

Kate and William, who’re referred to as the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay while in Scotland, marked the household outing with an Instagram submit that includes a behind-the-scenes snap of the household.
“Incredible atmosphere at the Commonwealth Games today,” they wrote. “Watching world-class talent compete and seeing the power of sport to bring people together is truly special. Thank you to everyone involved for such a wonderful day.”
They adopted that submit up with the montage video that James analyzed, captioning it, “Congratulations to every athlete taking part in this year’s Commonwealth Games! A special well done to Team Wales for proudly representing the nation on the international stage. It was a pleasure to join the athletes today at Wales House. Llongyfarchiadau, Team Wales!”
