Disney Channel stars unexpectedly reunite after 10

Demi Lovato kicked off her It’s Not That Deep tour with an impromptu reunion along with her childhood best pal.

Between Miley Cyrus’ Hannahversary particular and (*10*)Justin Bieber singing Baby on the Coachella stage, the past few weeks have been a deal with for followers who grew up in the early 2000s.

The nostalgia continued on Monday, April 13, when Demi, 33, started her tour in Orlando, Florida with a shock duet performance with Joe Jonas. The two delighted followers as they took the stage at the Kia Center to carry out This is Me from the hit 2008 film Camp Rock. However, what many didn’t know at the time was that another star from the Disney Channel universe was in attendance.

Selena Gomez, 33, stunned followers when she took to Instagram with a photograph embracing Demi before her live performance.

Many flocked to X to share their ideas on the surprising reunion, with one saying, “I’m living at the peak of nostalgia… Hannah Montana, Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Justin Bieber, This is Me with Joe Jonas… If someone says just one A, I’ll start crying and won’t stop, I swear to God.”

Another added, “Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez together in 2026, man, I swear even in the best bingo of this year I couldn’t have imagined something like this.”

A 3rd wrote, “i was in the same room as Demi Lovato, Joe Jonas and Selena Gomez last night. my inner child might have officially healed.”

After the present, Selena praised Demi and her performance. She wrote, “I am in tears. @ddlovato – this was hands down one of the best shows. Oh and the VOCALS? Psh *blown away.*”

The singer responded, “thank you so much for coming!! loved seeing you.”

The two singers spent a lot of their childhood together. They first met while showing on Barney & Friends in 2002.

Throughout their time on Disney Channel, they remained shut, even co-starring in the 2009 film Princess Protection Program.

Shortly after their reveals wrapped, Demi and Selena had a falling out. While chatting with Harper’s Bazaar in 2020, the singer confirmed, “I’m not friends with her.”

She then added, “When you grow up with somebody, you’re always going to have love for them. … I will always have love for her, and I wish everybody nothing but the best.”

Demi said Miley Cyrus was the “only [person] from that era” that she still spoke to from that time in her life.

The two had made up previous to Selena’s look at her live performance.

Last 12 months, Demi wished Selena “the best” when she heard of the actress’ engagement to Benny Blanco.

When the couple’s joint album, I Said I Love You First, launched, she also praised the setlist, saying, “Really, really great job. I love the songs on it.”
