Elvis Presley, the King of Rock and Roll, handed away under far more solitary circumstances than the glitz and glamour of his Vegas reveals would recommend.
The details surrounding Elvis’s death have been shrouded in thriller for many years, as his household stored the post-mortem outcomes under wraps for 50 years. However, a confidential report has shed light on the extreme health points he confronted. At just 43 years outdated, the Southern star was discovered lifeless, face down on the rest room flooring of his famend Graceland dwelling, seemingly having fallen from the toilet.
The final decade of his life was marked by important health decline. After years of substance abuse, the as soon as lean star tipped the scales at 350 kilos and had spent months secluded in his bed room, gorging on cheeseburgers. His deteriorating health required the fixed care of a nurse, and it is reported that he refused to wash for the entirety of 1975, resulting in the development of sores on his physique.

His diet led to chronic constipation, and an post-mortem revealed four-month-old compacted stool in his bowel. In addition to his bodily illnesses, Elvis was closely medicated, having been prescribed almost 9,000 capsules, vials, and injections in the seven months main as much as his death, reviews the Mirror.
And it was his girlfriend Ginger Alden who found the rock and roll legend’s lifeless physique. Describing the traumatic scene, Ginger, who was merely 21 at the time, penned in her memoir: “His arms lay on the ground, close to his sides, palms facing upward. It was clear that, from the moment he landed on the floor, Elvis hadn’t moved. I gently turned his face toward me. A hint of air expelled from his nose.
“The tip of his tongue was clenched between his tooth and his face was blotchy. I gently raised one eyelid. His eye was staring straight ahead and blood purple.”

A post-mortem examination was conducted that very day, but the findings were instantly sealed for 50 years by the family, triggering widespread conjecture about what caused his death. Dan Warlick, lead investigator for the Tennessee Office of the State Chief Medical Examiner, was present during the autopsy and added fuel to the widespread theory that Elvis passed away while struggling on the toilet.
He previously stated: “Presley’s chronic constipation – the result of years of prescription drug abuse and high-fat, high-cholesterol gorging – introduced on what’s often called Valsalva’s maneuver. Put merely, the pressure of making an attempt to defecate compressed the singer’s stomach aorta, shutting down his coronary heart.”
While some speculated that he died from a drug overdose, the case was reopened in 1994 and coroner Joseph Davis had a different perspective. He clarified: “The place of Elvis Presley’s physique was such that he was about to take a seat down on the commode when the seizure occurred. He pitched ahead onto the carpet, his rear in the air, and was lifeless by the time he hit the flooring. If it had been a drug overdose, [Elvis] would have slipped into an rising state of slumber. He would have pulled up his pajama bottoms and crawled to the door to hunt assist. It takes hours to die from medicine.”

The autopsy results are set to be revealed in 2027, but until then, the most significant insight into the star’s mysterious death has come from renowned California physician, Forest Tennant, who reviewed the report while defending Elvis’ doctor, Dr. George Nichopoulos, who was later acquitted of over-prescribing drugs. For Mr Tennant, one major clue was in the full-body deterioration of Elvis, with nearly every organ suffering from ill health. Elvis had been extremely fit as a young man, engaging in football and practicing martial arts. However, he began abusing drugs including amphetamines, opioids, and sedatives as a teenager and is known to have had a terrible diet.
Tennant, however, believed that the rock star’s long list of health issues from the late 1960s onwards couldn’t be explained away so easily. First, he complained of vertigo, back pain, insomnia, eye infections, and headaches. In 1973, he was rushed to the hospital in a semi-coma, suffering from jaundice, severe respiratory distress, significant facial swelling, a distended abdomen, constipation, a bleeding gastric ulcer, and hepatitis.
In 1975, he was hospitalized again with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and a condition called megacolon, which causes the large intestine to become distended and can allow toxins to flood the body. He also experienced at least four near-death overdoses that left him unconscious and in need of resuscitation, and his heart was double the normal size. Despite never having smoked, he also suffered from emphysema. So what caused all these disease processes in his stomach, liver, lungs, heart, spine, eyes, and bowel?
Forest believes it all traced back to a serious head injury he sustained in 1967 that triggered a progressive autoimmune inflammatory disorder. In his opinion, as shared in a 2013 medical paper, when Elvis tripped over a television cord and knocked himself out on the bathtub, the injury was so severe that it caused brain tissue to dislodge and seep into his blood circulation.
There, the body recognized the substance as foreign and generated antibodies to eliminate it, causing hypogammaglobulinemia, a condition affecting the body’s immune system. Back then, limited knowledge existed about auto-immune disorders, but today they are understood to trigger most of the symptoms Elvis exhibited, including chronic pain, erratic behavior, weight gain and enlarged and damaged organs such as hearts and bowels.
In 2016, Garry Rodgers, a former homicide detective and forensic coroner, informed the Huffington Post that considering those discoveries, he would have attributed Elvis’ death to a heart attack resulting from heart disease and drug use stemming from an autoimmune condition triggered by a brain injury. He stated: “I’d need to classify Elvis’s death as an accident. There’s nobody in charge – definitely not Elvis. He was a severely injured and sick man. There’s no particular negligence on anybody’s half and positively no cover-up or conspiracy of a felony act.

“If Dr. Forrest Torrent is right, there simply wasn’t a proper understanding back then in determining what really killed the King of Rock and Roll.” Despite Rodgers’ skilled evaluation, Elvis supporters stay troubled by doubt as the star’s post-mortem stays sealed.
However, one author has disclosed that anybody anticipating his post-mortem findings to be “released” in three years time will face major disappointment. Sally A Hoedel, the writer of Destined to Die Young, has carried out in depth research to uncover the fact behind Elvis’ death. She assures that people will not be let down because the reviews will not be launched, as they’re already public data.
She told The Mirror: “The myth of the autopsy report being released in 2027 continues to plague him. First, it suggests some smoking gun, which is just not the case. Second, it is a private family document and they will not be required to release it upon the 50th anniversary of his death. I believe this rumour began just over pure confusion. According to Tennessee State Law, it is the death certificate that will be made public in 2027, not the autopsy report. The autopsy report and its contents are very much public already…there is no big mystery waiting to be revealed.”
