Rick Harrison also suffered tragedy last 12 months when his son, Adam Harrison, died of an unintended overdose.

Adam handed away at 39 from unintended fentanyl and methamphetamine toxicity on January 19, 2024, according to the Las Vegas coroner.

Shortly after the news broke, Rick confirmed the news to TMZ in an announcement, which read, “Yes, I can confirm Adam died from a fentanyl overdose.”

“The fentanyl crisis in this country must be taken more seriously. It seems it is just flowing over the borders and nothing is being done about it. We must do better,” he added.

At the time, the actuality star took to Instagram to share a tribute to Adam, penning, “You will always be in my heart! I love you Adam.”

Harrison also opened up about grieving his son during a March look on the In Depth with Graham Bessinger podcast (per NBC News) in March. “I think about him every day,” Rick admitted.

The pawn store proprietor went on, “In his 20s, he had the drug problems, I mean, I put him in rehab so many times, and every time he’d do great and then fall back; you’ll hear the same story from a million people.

“It obtained actually, actually unhealthy, and apparently it wasn’t heroin; he obtained some fentanyl, and it killed him.”

Harrison admitted to second-guessing everything after having lost a child. “Could I’ve accomplished one thing different?” he asked. “I feel I did every thing proper, however you just sit in your head, ‘What if I did this? What if I did this?’ … There is nothing worse than shedding a child.”

Harrison added that as a parent, you “never see the OD coming” and there’s no “instruction e-book with youngsters.”

Harrison said he tries to focus on thinking “about the good instances” to “keep on moving on.” He added, “Appreciate what you bought, because you are not always going to have it.”
