Shakira ‘reveals her true colours’ at the 2026 FIFA World

Shakira took the stage alongside Burna Boy to carry out their official World Cup anthem.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup formally kicked off on Thursday, June 11, and is about to wrap up on Sunday, July 19.
This 12 months’s worldwide soccer championship is being hosted across three nations: Mexico, the United States, and Canada, that includes a record-breaking 48 competing international locations. This comes as Shakira opened up about why the World Cup means a lot to her and her two sons.
Shakira and Burna Boy opened the ceremony at Mexico City’s Estadio Azteca, performing their official observe, Dai Dai. The music’s title is Italian slang for “come on, come on” and “let’s go.”
This marks the third time Shakira has recorded the official anthem for the tournament, following Dare (La La La) for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

A candid backstage second from the performance rapidly captured followers’ hearts. A video posted on-line confirmed Shakira and her dancers being directed off the stadium flooring, only for her to pause and break right into a spontaneous dance with her brother, Antonio Mebarak.
In the clip, the siblings are seen joyfully dancing together despite being ushered to depart the flooring.
One fan praised Shakira for the real second, writing, “Two Barranquilla natives enjoying the dance floor at the Azteca.. Authentic SHAKIRA! ! !”.

Another admirer chimed in, commenting, “Hahahaha, I love her!! Always so her.”
A local of Barranquilla, Colombia, Shakira has 9 half-siblings on her father’s aspect. Her brother, Antonio, works as a real property agent.
Shakira’s look on stage also fueled hypothesis that a “body double.”
Various viewers have been satisfied the Colombian pop star was not the real deal, with one skeptic posting: “Am I the only one who thinks that’s not @shakira?? They got a double in thereee.”
The mom of two was wearing a mesh, neon-yellow outfit with matching gloves, white shorts, and platform sneakers, her strawberry blonde hair unfastened and her face partially hid by large darkish sun shades.
Adding to the intrigue, her performance was not broadcast live on Fox, which was instead airing World Cup coverage ahead of the Group A soccer match between Mexico and South Africa in Mexico City.
Telemundo, however, did carry the opening ceremony performances live, showcasing each Shakira and Burna Boy. The purpose Fox opted to not air the performance in real time stays unexplained.
Looking ahead, Shakira is slated to co-headline FIFA’s inaugural final halftime present on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, alongside Madonna and BTS.
